Spiritual Relationship
Our relationship are based on our unity in the Spirit (Eph 4) in the Body of Christ. This is not a transactional relationship. Our relationship should not be based on simply physical or financial, nor any political lines. As Paul says, “Live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” (Gal 5:16).
Our Core Values
At Cross-Way Church, our ministry and community life are anchored in the following seven biblical values. These principles guide how we worship, serve, and grow together as the body of Christ.
1. Spirit and Truth Worship We believe worship is the central act of the church, where we glorify God in a manner that pleases Him. We strive for worship that is doctrinally sound and spiritually vibrant, directed by the Word of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit (John 4:23-24; Psalm 29:2). We seek to honor the Triune God with reverence and awe, acknowledging His holiness and grace (Hebrews 12:28).
2. Biblical and Relevant Teaching and Preaching We are committed to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture (Sola Scriptura). Our preaching is expository and Christ-centered, seeking to unfold the whole counsel of God while applying His eternal truths to our contemporary Nepali context (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:2). We believe that faith comes from hearing the Word of Christ (Romans 10:17).
3. Christlike Leadership We uphold a model of servant leadership exemplified by Jesus Christ, the Chief Shepherd. Our leaders—pastors, elders, and deacons—are called to serve the flock with humility, integrity, and sacrificial love, rather than lording authority over others (Mark 10:42-45; 1 Peter 5:1-3). We prioritize character and biblical qualification in all levels of leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-13).
4. Evangelism Mobilization We obey the Great Commission to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to our neighbors and to the nations. We believe that while salvation belongs to the Lord, He uses His church as the means to call His elect. Therefore, we actively equip every member to be a witness of God’s grace in their daily lives (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 1:16).
5. Authentic Discipleship We believe the Christian life is a call to follow Jesus in daily obedience and holiness. Discipleship is not merely an academic exercise but a transformational journey of dying to self and living for Christ. We nurture believers to grow in spiritual maturity, bearing the fruit of the Spirit in every area of life (Luke 9:23; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 4:13-15).
6. Covenantal Community We cherish the church as the family of God, bound together by the New Covenant in Christ’s blood. We cultivate deep fellowship (koinonia) where members care for one another, bear one another’s burdens, and gather regularly for the breaking of bread and prayer (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:24-25). We view our unity in diversity as a testimony to the power of the Gospel (Galatians 3:28).
7. Righteous Justice We believe that a heart transformed by grace inevitably seeks justice and mercy for the vulnerable. Rooted in God’s righteousness, we are committed to defending the oppressed, caring for the orphan and widow, and engaging in holistic social work that restores dignity to the underprivileged in our society (Micah 6:8; James 1:27; Isaiah 1:17).
