Who We Are:

"A Well of Grace for the Nation of Nepal"

Welcome to Cross-Way Church. We are a Christ-centered, Nepali Reformed community dedicated to the glory of God and the expansion of His Kingdom. From humble beginnings in a living room to a movement planting churches across the nation, our story is a testimony to God’s sovereign grace and the power of the Gospel.

Our History: From Seed to Harvest

The Beginning (2001–2005)

Our journey began with a vision God planted in the hearts of Rev. Arbin Pokharel and Mrs. Bimala Shrestha Pokharel. While studying at Calvin Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the couple felt a deep calling to serve God in their homeland. After two years of mission work in India, they returned to a civil-war-torn Kathmandu in 2004.

What started as a small prayer fellowship in their living room quickly grew as neighbors and family members embraced the Gospel. Following a landmark Christmas outreach attended by over 400 people, the fellowship expanded rapidly. On November 19, 2005, Cross-Way Church was officially inaugurated, marking the beginning of a formal ministry committed to Word and Sacrament.

Growth and Resilience (2006–2015)

God continued to add to our number. We moved from living rooms to the Higher Ground Coffee House, and eventually, through God’s providence and the generosity of family, to a dedicated building in Ekantakuna. During these years, we faced challenges—including the tragedy of persecution in Nagdhunga and the devastation of the 2015 Earthquake—yet the church remained a steadfast witness, even holding services amidst the rubble.

A Permanent Home (2019–Present)

In November 2019, we joyfully dedicated our permanent church building in Khadkatol. Today, despite global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to worship, disciple, and serve, utilizing technology to keep the body of Christ connected.
